"For poor spirits and rich minds."
I am a board-certified Philosophical Counselor specializing in issues pertaining to veterans, meaning, fulfillment, depression, and anxiety. Utilizing the method of philosophical midwifery, my philosophical practice aims to instill the virtue of understanding in my clients so for them to resolve life-related questions and problems with trust, intelligence, wisdom, and artfulness.

Lance H. Gracy, Ph.D., is a teacher, scholar, Marine veteran, and board-certified philosophical counselor with the American Philosophical Practitioners Association. His scholarly works have appeared in Religions, Philotheos, Philosophy East and West, and elsewhere. Dr. Gracy’s journey to self-understanding began with a tremendous spiritual experience while serving as a Marine infantryman in 2013. Since then, he has been living out a spiritual-intellectual vocation–one inspired by the life of St. Francis of Assisi, who was himself a veteran and one of history’s greatest exemplars of the “warrior in the garden” ethos–to reach others with the truth, wisdom, and love of the inspired word. Dr. Gracy’s philosophical practice works with issues pertaining to veterans, meaning, fulfillment, depression, and anxiety. When away from the office, he enjoys a good stout beer, tinkering with his watches, working around the farm, reading military history, honing his skills as an amateur dog breeder, and spending time with his wife, Elizabeth, and their five children: Alice Anne-Thérèse, Daniel Joseph-Marie, Edith Clare, Francis Jude, and Margaret Rose.
Currently I am teaching online from my home office in Texas. Please email me if you would like to set up an initial consultation.
